Today’s Muslim Outrage:
2012 Olympics scheduled during Ramadan.
The chairman of the Islamic Human Rights Commission, Massoud Shadjared said: “This is going to disadvantage the athletes and alienate the Asian communities by saying they don’t matter. It’s not only going to affect the participants, it’s going to affect all the people who want to watch the games.”
It probably WILL affect all the people who want to watch the game. Getting blown up and/or your head sawed off usually does. That IS the normal outcome of whatever the Muslims happen to be outraged by, after all.
BTW, is anyone else as amused by the whole notion of an “Islamic Human Rights Commission” as I am? Just curious.
I’m positive that someone else has already done this because it’s such an obvious thing, so I’m happy to give whoever that person is credit for the idea, but I’m going to begin “Today’s Muslim Outrage” as a feature on Hoosier Illuminati. They’re outraged by so damn much that there’s surely room for more than one site to run with it.
The latest thing the Muslims are offended by is…
...The Apple Store on Fifth Avenue in NYC.
The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) reports that the glass Cube Apple erected earlier this year on New York’s tony Fifth Ave, dubbed Apple Mecca by many of the Mac faithful, is offensive to Muslims due to the Cube’s resemblance to the Ka’bah (aka The House of Abraham). The report goes on to say that there’s a genuine belief that the design of the store was specifically meant to provoke Muslims and cites other contributing insults such Apple housing “bars” that sell alcoholic beverages within the Cube structure and it being open 24/7.
The Apple Store.
The “Ka’bah”.
Well, sure, the resemblance is obvious. They’re both cubes, and we all know the Muslims have the patent on all things cube-shaped.
I can’t imagine a more blatant insult to Islam.
I think the Muslims might want to actually VISIT an Apple Store and check out the little fact that the Genius Bars dispense not alcohol but information, but hey, when has truth ever been a factor in what sets off our friends in the Religion of Peace Pieces?
Muslims, grow up. Not everything is about you.
Well I’ll be darned.
The hijackers of the Turkish Airlines jet? Muslims. Yeah, Muslims. I sure as hell never would have guessed Muslims, would you? Of course not. After all, it’s not as if there’s any precedent for that kind of behavior in the Muslim community, and it IS Ramadan.
Color me shocked.
Not.
Ted Turner: First Class Idiot
It annoys me that the MSM gives this creep air time to present his whacked out ideas.
On CNBC last week,
CNN founder Ted Turner argued that “you don’t win people over by bombing them, you win them over by being friends with them,” and soon recommended giving Muslim extremists what they want as a solution to terrorism.
Well, sure. Just do what the Islamofascists want us to do! Why didn’t we think of that? BECAUSE IT’S BLOODY INSANE, THAT’S WHY. Unless you want to convert to Islam, grow a long beard and make your wife walk around in a burka, in which case I suppose it makes perfect sense. Me, I’ll pass. I don’t want to be their friends. They want to kill me, and that has something of wet blanket effect on my friendly feelings toward them.
Ted goes on to note that he ended the Cold War, Al Gore is a great leader, Cuba is a “wonderful place,” that if the U.S. can have 28,000 nukes Iran ought to be able to have ten, and that men should not be allowed to hold political office for 100 years in order to make the world a peaceful place. I’m not sure how accepting his friends the Muslims would be of that last idea, but whatever.
Ted is either trolling all of us or he’s one of the world’s leading moonbats. Personally, my money is on the latter.
Let’s see now…
Pope says Muslims are savages, Muslims prove he’s right.
“We tell the worshipper of the cross (the Pope) that you and the West will be defeated, as is the case in Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya,” said a Web statement by the Mujahideen Shura Council.
“We shall break the cross and spill the wine ... God will (help) Muslims to conquer Rome ... (May) God enable us to slit their throats, and make their money and descendants the bounty of the mujahideen,” said the statement, posted on Sunday on an Internet site often used by al Qaeda and other militant groups.
And as if that wasn’t enough....
An elderly Italian nun who devoted her life to helping the sick in Africa was shot dead by two gunmen at a hospital Sunday in an attack possibly linked to worldwide Muslim anger toward Pope Benedict XVI and his recent comments on Islam.
Please don’t apologize, Your Holiness. You were right the first time, your mistake was not going further.
BTW, His Holiness’ speech? Read the whole thing. Decide for yourself.
Two thousand, nine hundred and ninety-six
By the way, to those of you crying about how many civilians have been killed in the war on terror and that “only” 2996 were killed on that day, let me show you what 2996 looks like. Every one of these marks was a life snuffed out by a young Arab male between the ages of 17 and 40.

We cannot continue to ignore the truth of the situation and who (and what), precisely, we are warring against.
This morning
At 8:46 this morning I brought up Google Earth and stared at a satellite view of what New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin termed ‘a big hole in the ground that the feds haven’t fixed yet.’
What Nagin and so many others haven’t figured out yet is that particular ‘hole’ is never going to be fixed. Never. Eventually another building will be built on that site, people will work there and life will go on, but the hole will never be fixed. The hole is in us as much as it is in the earth.
What Mayor Nagin sees as nothing more than the federal government missing an opportunity to create yet another infrastructure project was the Lexington & Concord, the Pearl Harbor, of a war that is going to rage for a very long time and kill many more of us—here and abroad. Many of us understand that it hasn’t really even started yet.
To the upset Democrats, I would just remind you that the savages with whom we’re at war don’t just want to kill American soldiers, they don’t just want to kill Republicans, they don’t even want to kill just “neocons,” they want to kill you. Daniel Pearl was none of those things. Two thousand, nine hundred and ninety six people in the World Trade Center were none of those things. They want to kill me, and they want to kill you.
We’re at war. Get used to it.
VDH on radical Islam and lessons not learned
That guy who writes like me, Victor Davis Hanson, has some thoughts on all the lessons we have yet to learn about radical Islam and how we deal it. Most important is this paragraph on energy independence, which is the greatest weapon we have in the war on terror:
Second, windfall petrol-dollar profits (now around $500 billion annually) financially fuel radical Islam. Iranian cash allowed Hezbollah to acquire the sophisticated weaponry needed to achieve parity in ambushes with the Israeli Defense Forces. Unless the U.S. can find a way to force oil prices back down below $40 a barrel, Islamists may eventually be better equipped with weapons they buy than we are with munitions we make.
There are many reasons why America needs to pursue energy independence, but depriving our enemies of the money with which to buy weapons to kill us is easily the most persuasive. If our government is serious about winning the war on terror, it will get serious about pursuing energy independence. While it’s satisfying to kill terrorists, they’ll just make more. The real war starts when we begin depriving them of resources rather than them depriving us.
