If you ever thought about buying a MacBook from CDW…
Don’t. Here’s the availability info for the MacBook that’s on the CDW website this very moment:
My MacBook has been on backorder since 9/12.
Either change the availability information or send me my freaking MacBook. You KNOW what will happen. I’ll wait for over a month for the thing, I’ll finally get it, I’ll crack open the box and that very second Apple will begin dropping Core2Duos into MacBooks. And I will be very irritated.

I was going to make something smart about my Thinkpad shipping from PC Connection in record time, but I see that they (or should I say MacConnection) are out of stock on that model as well. Maybe Apple is really prepping the Core 2 Duo Powerbooks as we speak.
(Note: I bought my Thinkpad back when it was “made” by a company headquartered in the People’s Repulic of New York.)
My ThinkPad is a Lenovo and it’s outstanding. It’s probably not PC of me to admit such, but it’s true, I love it. It’s by far the best Windows notebook I’ve every owned.
I guarantee Apple is prepping the C2D notebooks because I finally got notification this afternoon that my MacBook is finally in stock and supposedly ships today.
Heh. Blew up my old G4 tower’s power supply about a month ago, and in a fit of pique (and deadline panic) ran over and bought a 20” I-Mac 2 Ghz Duo-Core.
They announced the 24” model the very next f’ing day.
That’s okay. Don’t need two feet of screen on my desk. My eyes are so shot at this point that I sit with my nose in the thing anyway. Didn’t our parents tell us we’d go blind doing that? Or was that something else…
I don’t need two feet of screen on my desk either.
But I WANT two feet of screen on my desk, oh, I so very much WANT two feet of screen on my desk. But that’s going to have to wait for a little while, I suppose. I try to limit myself to one major computer purchase per year, and I need a notebook worse than I need a desktop.
